"Jon and Arin Push X" is an episode of Game Grumps and the seventeenth episode of Kirby Super Star.

Intro Edit

Arin (while Jon laughs): Hey hey, hey hey hey, hey hey everybody.
Jon: I should hope there'd be a big pause.
Arin: Hey hey, hey hey hey, hey hey everybody.
Jon (singing) Let's do, an episode, where we just sing songs 'bout what's goin' on...

Game ProgressEdit

The Game Grumps continue Milky Way Wishes. They finally figure out they can access all previously unlocked abilities at will. The episode ends right after they beat Wham Bam Rock.

Discussion Edit

Early on, Arin says he often thinks about what any given episode of Game Grumps would sound to someone who had never seen the show before and decided to start with that particular one. Jon guesses they'd likely just assume their weird intros were a running gag.

Arin brings up an episode of Richard Scarry's Busytown that involved the invention of the waffle. He doesn't explain what it's about very clearly, but a surprised Jon still suddenly realizes he has seen that particular episode. He also starts talking about it in very vague terms.

Jon once again brings up that he thinks Revenge of Meta Knight and Dyna Blade are the best parts of Kirby Super Star. He also describes Nightmare in Dream Land as just good levels the whole time. Just as both Grumps mention disliking the mechanic of not having copy abilities yet again, Jon checks if there is really no way to do anything about that, and makes the ability selection menu pop up. The realization that they could have picked any unlocked ability at any point briefly seems to blow Jon's mind, though this is quickly followed by him imagining what the comments would be like. Arin tries to defend their mistake, as they just don't really tend to think much about playing Kirby. He then notices he can also switch which helper he plays as.

Quotes Edit

(About not being able to copy abilities) Jon: It's just that, I don- I really don't understand the rationale on this one. I thought there was maybe a catch to it, (but) it's like nah, you just can't use 'em.
Arin: Hehyeah! ...Is it...? Jon: You just can't do it... unless I'm doing something wrong, wait, is it-
(Jon presses a button, bringing up the ability selection menu)
Jon: (short pause)OOOOOOH!
Arin: You can just have them whenever you want!?
Jon: Okay, THAT was the case... (starts laughing)

Outro Edit

Jon: Next time on Game Grumps, what the hell happened? I wasn't looking.
Arin: Nope, we still got, um... 30 seconds? (probably silently checks time) ...Never mind.

Trivia Edit

  • Jon sings part of GhostWithParanoia's Poppy Bros. remix in this episode, saying he loves it.
  • At one point, Arin briefly sings a mumbling rendition of his Ice Hair song from episode 3 of Kirby Super Star.
