Escape From The City is theme song (performed by Ted Poley and Tony Harnell) of the "City Escape" stage from the video game "Sonic Adventure 2". It has been sung many times by Jon and Arin during Game Grumps.

The song was first sung by Jon in A Piece of Bass, when he mentioned that he loves the song, and later randomly sung in Burp Integrity when Arin mentions that he wished that Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 had the same camera capability as Banjo Kazooie .

Sonic '06[]

It often appears in the Sonic '06 playthrough, starting with Wave Ocean but speeding the song up. The song is played/sung many times, usually when the Grumps have to fast forward through a segment (and has been used for one replay clip). They also sing and hum the tune at various times of the series, although they generally change the lyrics.Throughout most of the Sonic '06 series, the song was never played in its normal recording. Often at times, the song is sped up twice its normal speed, and other times, the song is slowed down. The only time the song was used the same speed it was originally recorded as was when Jon and Arin were singing the song in karaoke style without original vocals (altering their own lyrics) as a fast forward segment passing up the "kid quest" mini-game in the episode Kid Quest.

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric[]

The song made only one very brief appearance during the Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric series. During a brief speed up in the episode Just Jump, Danny sings the song in its variation using the lyric "Flying along at the speed of Knuckles. What the fuck is going on?"

Sonic 3 & Knuckles[]

During episode 6 of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles, guest star Jirard The Completionist mentions the song to Arin and Ross while talking about the type of music ("butt-rock") that the Sonic franchise uses following the Sonic Trilogy on the Sega Genesis.
